Development Education

On April 13-14, 2010 in Sofia the project 'Getting to Know!' was officially launched with a kick-off conference. The project aims to introduce development educaiton in the formal education curriculum in Bulgaria. This initiative is carried out with the financial support of the European Commission, and is a joint initiative of a coalitoin of six partner organisations, which are also among the founders of the Bulgarian Platform for International Development.
The conference gathered together all stakeholders and teachers from the participating academic institutions: educational and academic institutions: 10 schools and three universities from Sofia, Blagoevgrad and Stara Zagora. Representatives from Ministry of foreign affairs, Ministry of Education, Youth and Science, teacher labour unions, journalists and relevant NGOs also took part of the Conference.
